A magick formula of creating fetishes/figurines that can proxy for spirits (especially those of the malevolent kind)
Unlike benevolent spirits or those of beings we can trust – ancestral, nature for example, malevolent spirits aren’t good or wise to invoke into human hosts. And thus, inspired by the black sorcery of the BAVILI people of KONGO, I describe a magick formula via which one might be able to evoke into and permanently contain such dangerous spirits in hollow figurines or statues.
The following method describes how a figurine might be created, which can then be imbued or used to host the spirit of either some evil/dangerous power or some spirit of a person (either magically summoned into the figurine while alive – which causes the death of the person, so that their spirit assume place in the figurine, or if the person is already dead, summons their spirit to dwell in the figurine from beyond the grave). One justification for using such figurines is that unlike good or nature spirits (or ancestral spirits) which can be safely trusted to reside in or directly commune via a human host/medium, such dangerous spirits can’t be safely hosted in a human, as they can easily destroy the person or cause them insanity. Thus, these methods are best suited for the containment of dangerous spirits or those expected to work black magick.
How such figurines might be created:
- The spirit to be evoked into the figurine is identified
- The figurine must be cut from the trunk of a special tree – there are well known spiritual/sacred trees that can serve such purposes. But the shaman can seek inspiration.
- The figurine is made such that it has a hollow inside of it – especially in the head, and in such a manner that fluid poured into this hollow can’t leak while the figurine sits upright.
- The fresh blood is then used, in an evocation ritual, to imbue the figurine with life energy and to summon the essence of the spirit into the figurine.
- The figurine is then sealed – this might be temporary seal, if it is desired to be able to feed more blood into the figurine from time to time.
- Once this evocation is completed, the figurine is ready to be used in black magick.
How such figurines might be used:
- In consultations: Well, just like any other proxy/symbol of a deity/spirit before which necessary rituals can be performed before consultations/divination is performed to obtain messages or cures or wishes, etc.
- In performing destructive magick – one idea (inspired by similar use of such figurines by the BAVILI people of KONGO) is to perform inflict some torture on the figurine, by the person who is making the destructive request – such torture might be the insertion of nails or pins into the body of the figurine, while saying the request, and affirming that it is done. These nails are left inside of the figurine, and the rest of the work is left to the spirit to see to it’s completion.
